HIV and Pregnant Women - Toolkits

8,500 HIV-infected women give birth each year. Without proper care, you can pass HIV onto your baby.

ACOG developed a toolkit to help providers incorporate HIV testing into prenatal and perinatal care. This toolkit, known as the “Purple Folder” originally was distributed to all member physicians. Subsequent versions have been widely distributed to ACOG leadership and others.
